Following the ANZAC Bell ‘Dedication Ceremony” in October, on Sunday 11 November 2018, the Bell Tower welcomed over a thousand people to Barrack Square for Centenary of Armistice Day, and the first official ring of the ANZAC Bell. Simply glorious!

On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, a bugler, part of the 100 Buglers for 100 Years project, positioned on the Observation Deck of the Tower sounded the Last Post, joining with 180 others positioned at intersections and attractions around the Perth CBD; Northbridge, Kings Park and the South Perth foreshore. Then following the minutes silence, the 6.5 tonne ANZAC Bell, a Centenary Project, ‘officially’ rang out for the first time to honour all Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women who were involved in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations around the world.  It was an incredibly moving moment for the crowd who were awash with Poppies and at the end of the ring, while the sound was still reverberating around the Square, the crowd broke out in applause.  “We Will Remember Them’’.
