World Parkinson's Day

April 11, 2026

On Saturday, April 11th, 2026, Parkinson’s Western Australia will be joining states across Australia in illuminating iconic buildings and landmarks in purple in honour of World Parkinson’s Day. This initiative has been supported by all states in Australia for over 10 years and we aim to continue supporting this initiative to raise awareness for Parkinson’s disease and show solidarity with the estimated 15,000-25,000 Western Australians living with the condition, as well as their families and caregivers.

Purple is the nationally recognised colour for Parkinson’s disease, symbolising hope, and support. By lighting up your landmarks in purple, you’ll help bring attention to the daily challenges faced by those affected and contribute to a national effort to raise awareness about this condition.
