Lipoedema Awareness Month

June is Lipoedema Awareness Month, and an estimated 11% to 19% of the female population have it. It is frequently misdiagnosed by medical practitioners due to the lack of awareness and education of the chronic disease, and as a result a lot of women don't know they have it.

The aim is to help inform women that don't know they have lipoedema, and to support women who do have it, whilst educating healthcare practitioners on the chronic disease to diagnose it better and quickly.

This is a significant day of recognition, acknowledging the impact MND has on people around the world.

Each year, MND associations across the world undertake a range of activities to express their hope that this day will be another turning point in the search for cause, treatment and cure of MND.

PTSD Awareness Day

Tonight, The Bell Tower is standing bright on the Perth waterfront to mark PTSD Awareness Day.

We are proud to use our space to shine a light on an important conversation. Living with posttraumatic stress disorder, or supporting a loved one through it, can often feel isolating - but community support and understanding can make all the difference.

We are joining forces with the team at @phoenix_australia - the national centre of excellence in posttraumatic stress disorder - to help break down the stigma and share trusted, evidence-based resources.

Whether you are looking to understand the signs, support a mate, or access professional clinical guidance, education is the first step toward a trauma-informed community.

Next time you are walking through Elizabeth Quay, take a moment to look up, snap a photo, and help us spread the word. Let's ensure no one has to walk the path to recovery alone.
