June 21, 2026
21 June is Global MND Awareness Day 💙
On 21 June, landmarks around Australia are shining blue as we recognise the worldwide Motor Neurone Disease (MND) community - those living with the disease, families, carers, researchers, support organisations and health professionals.
MND is a progressive and devastating disease that changes lives rapidly. Currently, there is no cure for this disease.
Here in Western Australia, the MND Association of WA delivers person-centred support and specialist care to people affected by MND in Western Australia.
💙 Why 21 June?
The solstice on 21 June symbolises change, a turning point. The MND community marks this date, expressing hope that this day will be a turning point in the search for cause, treatment and cure of MND.
