Laura’s Legacy

Home of the Swan Bells

Laura Ivey Tea Cosy Fund

Laura has always enjoyed giving visitors, ringers, particularly children, the opportunity to share her passion, learn about history of the bells and demonstrate the skills involved.

The intention of Laura’s fundraising by making tea cosies has always been to contribute in a meaningful way to the public. What better way of spending the fund than to educate and make a contribution to future generations about bells and bell ringing!

Laura’s Legacy offers two free class excursion tickets for Primary low SEI schools to the North Metro area, and two tickets for the South Metro area (Primary grades 4, 5, or 6) to experience the Bell Tower, and the thrill of chiming bells!

The Bell Tower Experience is a 1-hour tour, which includes an interactive bell chiming demonstration. During this demonstration students will learn to chime the 300-year-old bells that are originally from the St. Martin-in-the-Fields church in London. Each participant will also receive a souvenir bell chiming certificate to commemorate their experience. After the chiming demonstration is the walking tour of the Bell Tower. Witness the famous bells up close, including the impressive 6,500kg ANZAC Bell. The tour will finish on the Level 6 Observation Deck where there are views to enjoy and the coin operated Carillon to listen to. The Bell Tower is an exciting place to visit and we know the children will have a wonderful time.

To take up this offer, please email the Bell Tower directly and mention the class excursion ticket will be part of ‘Laura’s Legacy’.
Please do not book online.
