Love Locks are a romantic tradition where couples attach padlocks to a public structure, such as a bridge or a fence, to symbolise their eternal love. This practice has gained popularity in recent years, with its origins beginning in ancient China where a couple would lock a padlock onto a chain and throw the key into a river as a sign of their unbreakable bond.

At The Bell Tower, the Love Lock chain is located at the right side facing entrance for all to see. After the lock has been purchased and inscribed, we’ll deliver your lock or you can come to collect it. Then, you simply choose a link on the chain and ‘lock’ your love. 

Love Locks start at $35.00 and includes engraving of two names and a date* and a beautiful folder so you can record the date and the moment that you locked your love together with that special person. Family members and close friends also use Love Locks to lock their relationship forever. Love Locks can be ordered from our front desk during our opening hours between 10am – 3:45pm, Tuesday– Sunday. Engraving normally takes around 30-60 minutes.

Alternatively, you can order it online, and choose between local pick up, standard post or express post. When ordering online, locks generally take 24-48 hours to process before being made and posted.

Locks are 80g 90mm long and 48mm wide and 7mm deep. They also come with a DL folder and brochure.
