Accessibility – Special Needs Attraction Perth

Home of the Swan Bells

The Bell Tower accommodates and provides for the needs of a wide variety of visitors and is designed to ensure visitors with physical disabilities are able to have full access to the area.

Easy access includes ramped entry from Barrack Square, and tactile tiles for visually impaired visitors that mark the edge of the water features and pedestrian crossings.

Upon entry to The Bell Tower, customer service staff will identify individuals or groups that may have specific needs and will provide support or guidance as required.

The Tower provides for wheelchair and stroller access with a spacious enclosed glass lift to all levels. The lift is fitted with dual control buttons to allow for larger wheelchairs that cannot be turned in a lift. Toilet facilities include a large formatted disabled/special needs toilet with a seated area, sink and shower facilities that is suitable for parents with babies or young children.

The interactive demonstrations run by volunteer bell ringers are inclusive of special needs visitors, ensuring everyone can enjoy their turn at ringing the bells.

If you are making a special needs group booking, we suggest you complete the online contact form that will allow our staff to appropriately prepare for your visit.

The Bell Tower is a participant in the Companion Card which is a National Disability Services WA initiative to enable disabled members of the community to be accompanied by their carer free of charge.
