The Bell Tower

7th Annual Photographic Competition

2017 Theme ‘Up Close and Personal’

The Bell Tower’s 7th annual photographic competition will once again give Western Australian non-professional photographers the chance to express their view of the Tower for the chance to win some fantastic prizes.

In 2017, we are focusing on the current trend of macro photography and the theme is “Up Close and Personal”. We’re asking people to submit a macro photograph which portrays their minute perspective of the Bell Tower.

Maybe not easily seen, or even recognised, there are numerous miniscule historical details about bells and the history of bells hidden within the walls of the Tower. This year we want competitors to look for the macro secrets, that which is not so obvious.

We want to see what you see, so grab your camera and be part of the Bell Tower photographic ‘experience’. We’ll even give you a FREE entry voucher to the Tower so you can take your photograph.

There are three categories: People’s Choice (18+), Judges Selection (18+), and a Youth category (11 - 17 years).

Thanks to Camera Electronic and Canon, both People’s Choice and Judges Selection winners will receive a Canon EOS 700D DSLR 18-55mm IS STM Lens Kit (RRP $949) PLUS a $200 voucher for Shoot Photography Workshops, and the Youth category winner will receive a Canon PowerShot G9XII Digital Camera (RRP $729).

Everyone who votes online for their favourite image in the People’s Choice category will go in the draw to win a sensational ADAMS Pinnacle Tours 2-Day Margaret River Getaway including accommodation at Abbey Beach Resort, prize value $1,500.

The competition opens 23 July 2017 and closes 5.00pm Friday 29 September 2017. The winners will be announced in October and their winning photograph proudly displayed in The Bell Tower.

Scaffidi, Howard Frank -Director Camera Electronic, Mogens Johansen - Lead Travel Photographer for Seven West Travel Club and The West Australian Newspaper and The West’s Jenni Storey – Assistant Editor Features, Lisa Barnes – News Director 882 6PR and Gerry Lyng – Manager the Bell Tower.
